Bob, I believe that you likely hit the 'nail on the head.' Nebraska is a
very mediocre team. They certainly have the characteristics of a mediocre
team. Their play is inconsistent on both sides of the ball, and special
teams. Discipline is lacking in crucial moments.
They get themselves up to play well against a highly rated team (Texas) at
home. They play to not get beat too bad on the road (thanks to the coaches
game plan) against a highly rated team. They lose game(s), this year, most
think they should win...OSU. They coulda, shoulda, woulda got beat by KU
based upon the quality of their play at home. They won that game due to a
few big plays. Those big plays aren't even tried in many games.
We want to believe that Nebraska is returning, if not already returned, to
the glory days/years of the not too distant past. They haven't done either
from where I sit.
