You may be absolutely correct amundo. I saw him run into the guy
and kind of push. I guess I didn't interpret that as throwing an elbow
but I could see it could be taken that way possibly. Maybe that is what
they called. At any rate they evidently thought they saw or heard
something.

I have never officiated on this level but I have officiated high
school basketball, baseball, and football. I do know one thing. It is
a whole lot different down there on that field than it is in Section
119, Row 32, Seat 16, or watching on TV. The biggest difference is
when you are officiating you are looking through the action. You are on
the same level as the players. Sitting in the stands or watching TV you
are looking down at the action. I remember always remarking when I was
officiating high school basketball how the calls all looked so obvious
when I was sitting in the stands. They weren't that obvious when you
were running up and down the floor with the flow of the game. There are
a lot of times you just flat get screened out no matter how hard you try
to be in position to make the call. I am not saying this discussed call
wasn't missed. But there are indeed reasons why calls might be missed
other than the official is a moron or he doesn't like my team.
