[Husker] Offense Has Improved but not Defense

Through the eight games this year, Nebraska is averaging 436 yards per
game (189 rush/247 pass). Last year the average for 12 games was 320
yards (96 rush/224 pass). But the defense has pretty much stayed where
it was. In 2005 the Huskers allowed 332 yards per game (124 rush/208
pass) and this year (8 games) the Blackshirts have given up 340 yards
per game (120 rush/220 pass). Injuries to Bowman and Fluellen hurt the
"D" and we've faced higher ranked teams than in '05.

Critical that NU beats Mizzou to continue the run for the North title.
Memorial Stadium, Homecoming, 11:00 morning kickoff - will it all add
up? They need another quick start and can't let the Tigers back into
the game like they did with the 'Pokes. If the Huskers improve on
special teams and penalties, I say we win 31-17. Beyond the North
title, they need a few more "W's" going into the Bowl season.
