Hello Husker Fans,
P> 1.) Why the coaching staff is briliant at scriping plays, but cannot
P> make adjustments to save their life
To me, that really seems to be Callahan's strength this year. He's
been great at changing up his scheme to match the game (with the
exception of USC, who lost 33-31 today).
P> 2.) Why under Calalhan, teams seem to just lay an egg after a
P> disappointing loss. We went 1-4 over the next 5 games after losing to
P> Texas Tech last year. What the hell will we do this time? We're
P> already off to a great start.
I don't have an answer for that question.
P> 3.) Why we've had glaring problems on defense ever since Callahan and
P> Cosgrove came on board, despite the fact that the defense preceeding
P> them in 2003 was pretty good.
Before today: Scoring defense #15 (Great), Rushing Defense #26 (Good),
Total Defense #51 (Not terrible), Pass Defense #80 (Not Good).
That doesn't spell 'glaring problems' as you put it. In fact, that
defense sounds pretty good. We just weren't particularly good today.
Our pass defense isn't too good, I don't think we can deny that. In
addition, even the best defense I can remember have had trouble with a
mobile QB. And for my money, I don't know if I've seen much better a
combination of run / pass then this guy.
P> 4.) Why Callahan's record is so horrible on the road, even against
P> mediocre competition. If we lose @ Texas A&M, he'll have a losing road
P> record for the 3rd staright season.
I partially agree. We don't seem to be too great on the road, that's
for sure. I don't think OSU is all that bad of a team, they just had
to late game meltdowns last two weeks. They're a couple of plays from
being undefeated in the Big XII.
Anyhow, I'm not saying you're totally wrong. I just don't think I'd
use as strong of words as you are.
