I'm still not sure why some folks think NU shouldn't have dropped after this loss...really the only times I can recall teams not dropping at least 3 or 4 spots after a loss are when you lose to a team in the top 2 or 3, or if you are called Notre Dame. Other than that, Nebraska easily could have dropped past 20th in my opinion.

Hello Husker Fans,

I would guess that the majority of voters do either 1 of 2 things when
placing their vote:

1) Read Boxscores. It's been long discussed that many voters will
simply check the boxscores to figure out where to place the teams and
don't really find out what 'happened'.

2) Watch Sportscenter. If any of you watched what sportscenter /
talking heads had to say about this game, it was portrayed as a
'dodged bullet' by UT and not as NU being on the same level as UT.
They talked about how great UT was for coming back in the cold and
snow rather than being beaten by NU only to get lucky. It was very
much portrayed as NU was lucky to be there and normally we would lose
by 2 scores. They've been talking all year about how Texas is still
in the MNC hunt and how they've gone 'under the radar'. So they
wanted to paint a picture that Texas is a MNC team and easily the best
team in the Big XII.

Just my 2 cents.
