One of the reasons probably has to do with the talent TX has at blocking kicks, and a long one would have to have a low trajectory. I still think the statistics would have been better for a long FG than a hail Mary.

I think you could flip a coin on that one. Callahan must have figured
he didn't have anyone with the leg to get it that far even with the wind.
To be honest I don't think I have seen anyone this year I would have
confidence to get it that far either.
