     I totally agree.  There is really nothing to say about the Solich 
situation that hasn't been said over and over.  I certainly would have 
rather beat Texas than lose and that is an understatement.  But, with that 
said I am really pleased with the game yesterday.  It shows we can indeed 
stay on the same field with the top teams in the country.  That is something 
NU couldn't do two years ago.  To totally rebuild a team, particularly 
offensively, takes a lot of time.  I wonder how many of us thought after 
Callahan's first year we would be this far along at this time?  I know I 
didn't.  I think we have to keep in view the progress that has been made and 
at the same time realize this still isn't the old NU that could just chew 
people up and spit them out.  That time may be here soon, though, but it 
isn't here yet.
