Hello Husker Fans,
SJ> Please tell me what to do to recover from this trauma....
Outside of prescription pain medications, I don't know what to tell
you. This one hurt more than the 1999 version (despite it's
similarities), mostly because it's getting old.
I think the best cure for this will be in the form of a victory on
December 2nd in Kansas City. If we are robbed of such a cure, I would
suggest a healthy dose of 1995-6 vs Miami tape review. Or maybe a
visual dosage of the 1999 Big XII championship.
In 1999, if you remember, the loss to Texas very well might have cost
us another National Championship.
Imagine how this team would be different if Frank had won that
championship? Would Frank still be here? In the 'one thing leads to
another' category, if Buckhalter doesn't fumble in 1999, does Frank
still have a job? I have to imagine that a National Championship buys
you at least a little more time before you get fired.
Looking back at that game, we killed ourselves with turnovers once
again. We fumbled 5 times and lost 3 while Texas fumbled twice and
lost none. We out-yarded them 429 to 275. We had 10 more first
downs then they did. Geesh. Oh well.
