I've heard two things; one frequently, one just once/twice, with respect to today's game.
The first (more frequent) thing: This game is the preview to the B12 championship game.
The second (just a couple of times) thing: If we accept the first statement, how much will either coach, especially Callahan "show"? How bold will the game plan be?
With respect to the second statement, could there be a viable strategy wherein conservative play today makes a win today less likely, but puts us in great shape for the championship game?
Actually I hope not.
Even though the B12 game is arguably more important than the game today, given a choice between which game I'd like to see us win I'm picking today. I know that sounds a little crazy, but my thinking is this team needs to win a bigtime game soon to gain credibility and confidence. A win today makes the success the rest of this season more likely.
Bottom line: pull out all the stops and knock of the Horns today!

Subject: [Husker] This is a big game today
Greetings Husker Faithful,
With less than an hour to go to Nebraska vs Texas a few thoughts come to my mind. First, this game has huge implications for the both the North and South Conferences. If Texas loses, then the South is really shaken up. Texas will then hope for Nebraska wins over both aTm and OK State; Oklahoma and Baylor are not out of it, but they need help.
If Nebraska wins, then they are in the driver's seat for the North. If they lose, Nebraska is not out of it, but will need some help. Right now THE game in the North will be Nebraska vs Missouri, but today is only for beating the Longhorns.
If Zac Taylor states loose (although with the weather there may not be too much passing), then Nebraska should prevail.
Any experts out there want to talk about the impact the weather will have?
Nebraska wins close, 21-17 in a hard fought game.
Go Big Red!
Rob Czeranko
