I chose my posts wisely. It's time for some verbage.... I started the season picking the Huskers to go 10-2. The second game they lose was not at home. It was on the road at Texas A/M. I still stick with that original statement. I believe in my heart that they will win Saturday. The score will look something like 24-21. Texas has yet to really test this young QB on the road. Memorial stadium is "on the road" I also think they will run, and pass in equaly measures. We will get one 100 yard rusher, and some serious "we're back" respect from the national media. Bring on the "shorthorns" GO BIG RED!!!

Ever the optimist (at least with Nebraska football anyway), I will offer this as well...I bet most of those teams, with the exception of Ohio State, were behind most of the game and ditched the run early on. I didn't watch any of them, but who knows, maybe the Huskers can get an early lead and inflate those rushing stats on the Horns!

Hello Husker Fans,

Great question. Texas is tied for #5 with 3.57 sacks/game. (Nebraska
is #66 with 1.86)
True, but they STILL have only allowed more than 100 yards rushing in
ONE game (Sooners and they ran it 34 times with a Heismann caliber
running back).
Take Sacks out of the picture and here's what you get:
Team Att Yds Avg
N. Tex 24 51 2.1
OSU 26 97 3.7
Rice 17 13 .8
ISU 20 63 3.4
Sam Hou 25 87 3.5
OU 34 144 4.2
Baylor 7 67 9.6
TOTAL 153 522 3.4
Baylor's stats are a little skewed too, because they only ran it 7
times and one of them was a 56 yards. Take that away and they rushed
6 times for 11 yards.

if teams are getting yardage and then
SRL> give up 3-4 10 yeard sacks, it looks a lot worse than it really
SRL> is. Of course, they are still losing 10 yards a pop...

SRL> Hello Husker Fans,
SRL> I for one hope that we don't "stubbornly" try to run the ball.
SRL> Texas's running defense is not just good, it's great. They're #2 in
SRL> the nation in rush defense for a reason. Here's a breakdown of
SRL> yardage of their opponents:
SRL> Team Att Yds Avg
SRL> Yikes, that's some defense. Plus, the've only allowed 3 touchdowns
SRL> from the ground. Wow. Granted, some of these teams aren't very good,
SRL> but some are. Oklahoma is 25th in the nation in rushing, Ohio St is
SRL> 44th.
