First of all one has to remember times and eras have changed. Devaney
was not looking beyond Nebraska at his age and everyone knew that. One
cannot expect every coach to be that way. People in Nebraska were really
spoiled over the Devaney/Osborne era. I'll guarantee you if TO was the
average coach he would have moved on. He could have made multiple times
what he made at NU at another venue. I can't be convinced Callahan is
looking beyond NU. He is not a young man either.
An excellent example is Charlie Weiss at Notre Dame. This is

Charlie is there because of his contract. He hasn't done that great of
job considering the last two years he has used Willingham's players. If I
was Charlie I would do the same thing.
