Oh how I wished they would have popped him and sent him sailing north to Canada or heck even Minnesota. I cringe every time I'm watching a game with folks from other teams and they show that stupid thing. God save Herbie!!!

I witnessed this episode from my seats in the northeast stadium towards the end of the game: 'Lil Red ventures into the north end zone area where a large group of cheerleaders were, and where the ISU band sat in the stands. After an altercation with the ISU bird-mascot (the bird basically beat the crap out of him), 'Lil Red went over towards the ISU cheerleaders. I don't know if he was just looking for trouble or what, but he was just being nice, giving high fives to a row of cheerleaders, walking down the center of them. Then one of the girls stuck her leg out and tripped him. After he got up, 4 ISU band members came down, picked him up and as they held him he was lying on his back. They proceeded to take him over to the goal post, and ram him leg first into the goal posts, about 4 times. After that, 'Lil Red ran for cover. All harmless entertainment? Possibly, but I don't ever remember that sort of treatment being given to visitors by our cheerleaders, mascot or band members.
