And speaking of ancient history . . . Lawrence Phillips has now been 
convicted of assault with a deadly weapon for driving his automobile 
into a group of young men following a pickup football game. Phillips has 
been in jail since the incident (August last year), which explains why 
we have heard nothing of him lately. He could get up to 20 years.
