[Husker] Could this Husker team beat...

I agree with Steven and have my own take.
I subscribe to this list because there used to be good info and analysis.
How will the Blackshirts stop KSU's newfound weapons? How will Austin's
injury hurt the "rock pounding"? The press has tried to turn the team into
a gridiron version of American Chopper by looking for dissention because
(player's name here) didn't get a touch in (game here). All while the team
unity is strong week in and week out.
I must have been deluded into thinking that Husker fans supported their team
and were interested in understanding their system, and weren't myopic
dogmatists fixated with Frank and the belly pitch option right. Or is it
that the comfort of the option attack is a tough thing to leave behind?
I don't care how much anyone likes one coach or system over another; this
bunch of players wants to win and fights every second that they're out there
regardless of what anyone says of their chances of winning and I'm very
impressed (compare to CO). Since last year at KU they have been very
entertaining and inspiring.
Now what are they going to do against KSU? The Lucky/Wilson show with a
breakout from Peterson? Will Purify continue his rise and Herian will get
another TD? How could Mann help? I don't think a freshman QB will do well
against the Blackshirts.
And will the Huskers ever get a cool fog-spewing inflatable helmet to run
out of like ISU? :)

I have to agree. Why this...hope the Husker's fail attitude? This has gone
on way to long. Frankly...people better get used to it. The Husker's will
continue to improve in the West Coast offense. They may stumble on
occasion. They may over achieve on many occasions...but why is it that it
seems like everyone outside the Husker nation wants us to fail? Is it
because we won for so many years? Is it because we spanked them around and
were the dominant force in the Big 8? OK...here's my take...To "heck" with
them...the train's coming...and get out the way or wear RED. OU did
it...Kansas Stae did it for a short period of time...and even Colorado did
it...but these kids want to get to the NFL, ad they think that Callahan and
the "Corn-coast" offense will get them there. GO BIG RED...AND HANG ON!

Okay, I'll bite.
It's always great when people ask a hypothetical question such as you
have, knowing it can never be answered.
Embarassing 5-1? We're 5-1. It would have been nicer if we'd "looked"
better against USC, but I guess that depends on how you saw the game. I
didn't see it that as being that bad.
I don't know if we're back to where we started, all we can do is to keep
winning games, even if they're against "inferior" competition. We can't do
anything about the level of competition in the Big 12, and the schedule
we've played is pretty comparable to that we've played for the last, oh,
30 years. What you want out of that I don't understand.
Missouri is definitely improved, but if we happen to beat them, people
will say that they weren't really that good in the first place, so
'failure' becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. I don't know if our defense
is good enough to stop Texas's running game, and that's what will have to
happen for us to win that game.
I guess if it comes apart as the season progresses, you can be proud about
being right and get louder. It's always wonderful to see people wanting to
see Nebraska fail, but I don't understand it.
Are there specific parts about this Nebraska team you don't like? Four
usable, capable running backs? A good quarterback? Good receivers?
