Exactly what sort of response are you looking for with this post? Hasn't this stuff been beaten to death enough already in the off season(s)?

How do we know the 2003 Cornhuskers wouldn't be 2-3 right now? Answer- we don't, nor will we ever.

Yes, let's get a new coach in here right now, at least that way the kids can have 6 more games this season to learn a completely new system again instead of starting a new one next season. Can't be as bad as the last 2 years right? This way, we can all speculate on how the 2007 Huskers would do against this years team!

Embarassing 5-1? You've got to be kidding me. The days of 58-7 Big 8 blowouts are LONG over my friend, even Dr Tom saw this coming with the creation of the Big 12. And losing to USC isn't all that bad afterall- did you happen to catch the Arkansas-Auburn score? USC rolled the Razorbacks this year too.

Interesting. In three years, has the team "improved" enough to where it was
when the previous coach got fired? I'd be really interested to hear the
input and opinions of other listers on this. My answer is that it probably
remains to be seen. We have played one team of any distinction at all, and
the best thing we can say about that is that we didn't look too bad and only
lost by 18. About the only team who has played a weaker schedule is the
Missouri Tigers. We are a somewhat embarrassing 5-1. If pressed, my answer
would be no, we are not back to where we started. I don't think this team
could beat the 2003 Husker team...the players are as good but it is not
nearly as well coached. I don't mind being the first to publicly jump on
the G.R.O.C. bandwagon, and I expect it will pick up steam this year and
next. I'm hoping for a new coach in 2008.
