[Husker] Just what did the Kansas game tell us?

If you subscribe to "Grand Plan " theory a win is a win and this is just another stepping stone. In 2008 we'll look back on this game as one of the turning points. Perhaps.

If you are another of the "beaten down" fans who have lowered expectations then it's a wwin and you'll take it. But struggling to beat Kansas at HOME and in OT .... Not long ago that would have been unthinkable.

The game did tell us something about the team. They didn't fold after going down after leading by 17 points. And they did make the big plays that Kansas was daring them make. But the team couldn't run out the clock. As for the defense- well that 574 yards has offensive coordinators salivating.

It tells us that the Huskers have been lucky. NU has a nice little streak of teams unable to make extra points in close games going back to Pitt last season. But can the Huskers continue to rely on luck?

Just what did the game tell Husker fans. That Nebraska can wallop the LA Techs and Troys of the world. Conference teams are an entirely different matter. The cakewalk to the Big XII North title, that so many fans had already placed in the bag, won't be a cakewalk. We'll see Saturday night and so will the nation.
