Isn't that what halftime and in game adjustments are about. And couldn't we have at least tried the other blitzes once and awhile? Isn't this what Bohl was so heavily critized for? His inability to adjust at halftime or during the game.

We did try to pressure the quarterback.

I could not figure out why we kept trying to rush the middle. Kansas offensive line uses a "bubble" protection scheme which means they have narrow splits and the tackles peel not perpendicular but just backpeddle if you will to form a "bubble" for the qb. This type of protection is designed to protect up the middle blitzing and rushing and it did just that. Why we did not rush our ends from the extreme outside the tackle, or try a corner blitz (our corners could not cover the receivers anyway!) is beyond me. Now don't get me wrong, KU offensive line did a great job with this, but good heavens do we not have any schemes to counter this sort of thing?

Cosgrove said they were very worried about the shovel pass to Cornish, so I guess they wanted to make sure they had the middle stopped up. They may have underestimated the ability of the KU O-line to block our guys. The pass rush was generally pretty feeble.
