[Husker] Observations/opinion

I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel on this team, yet. Like another
poster pointed out, the Huskers seemed to get in trouble because of the
early scores. I get the feeling that, in college football, scoring quick is
not a good thing unless you have a great defense. Nebraska does not have a
great defense, and only has an average offense.

The defense needs to be able to stop the run, in order to make teams one
dimensional. The Huskers couldn't put on a good pass rush because the
Kansas RB's were running wild. The Husker CB's are small, but even great
CB's can't consistently cover when the QB has time. I thought the D-line
tried hard...thought they might have been held on more than a few
occasions...but were outmatched until late in the game. Thank goodness that
"warrior" on KU's O-Line was tired by the end of the game.

NU's O-Line is pathetic. Taylor played incredible, considering he spent
most of the game running for his life. I thought that the Huskers could
have given him more time if they had run a few screens...either to the RB or
the TE. I also think they need Mann back badly.

Recruiting issue...anyone know if the Huskers are trying to get some big
CB's? These 5'8" dudes are trying hard, but the Huskers have no one to
cover big men.
