[Husker] Polls

I have but one word for this game...'pathetic!' In my opinion, NU's lines
were ineffective on both sides of the ball. We looked great for much of the
first quarter, then it seemed the team became spectators. If not
spectators, they certainly were not participating as they did for most of
the first quarter. The officiating was bad...several missed holding calls,
the forward lateral. I believe I heard the ref say at the start of OT that
KU won the toss and would go on offense. KU tried hard to not win the game
with their turnovers.

Thank heaven for OT as I believe that was the only time we got to their QB
for a significant loss.

I sat in rather disbelief as to what I was seeing for 3 quarters. I did
muster enough energy to yell and make noise during the OT.

Those around me who thought this was a great game, seemed to think so
because the score was close after NU lost their 17 pt. lead. They had
trouble stating that the caliber of play contributed anything toward their
perceived 'great game.'

Having said that, I appreciated the band playing to the east stadium again
at the half. Our punting was pretty good save one punt as I recall. NU did
get a 'W' when it was all said and done. In my opinion, NU is going to have
to improve greatly if they are to win the North in the Big 12...unless the
rest of the teams in the North prove to be terrible or very unfortunate.

I read in the Lincoln Journal-Star this morning where a fan at the game
was quoted as saying “They played their hearts out. It was such a great
game. It was so exciting and we might move up to (No. 16) in the polls now.”
I wasn't quite sure how we move up with a scare like that from Kansas but
everyone is entitled to their opinion. In these two polls we actually
dropped one place.
