[Husker] Observations from the stands

If the whistle blows, the play is dead and not reviewable. Remember that video review is still relatively new in college football. In a few years, the officials will have a tendency to not blow the whistle so fast. Pay attention to NFL referees; if this play were in the NFL they would more than likely not have blown the whistle, and let it play out. Then, if it actually was a forward pass it would be reviewable.

I do have one question for someone on the list. How come the lateral was not a
reviewable play? You can review fumbles and catches so why not if a play was a lateral or not? That doesnt make much sense to me.
I'm guessing that the officials blew the play dead, which made it non-reviewable. Too bad. The replays were pretty clear - the ball landed a couple feet behind from where it was thrown.
