[Husker] Husker BBall #9 RPI??

Realtimerpi.com has NU #6. That is "probably" too high, but the first
16min of tonight's game was the best NU men's basketball I have seen
in many, many years. This team is good and they play hard on both
ends of the floor. They are a better team than Creighton --- I think
they would win 7 or more of 10 against Creighton.

They go on the road for Rutgers which should be an easy win. Then
they have a week to prepare for Oregon on the road, which Sagarin has
#28, leads the Pac 10, and just won at Georgetwon AP#18/ESPN+USAToday#23
(over-ranked, at least according to Sagarin, which has them #63).
Mark that game, Dec 9, as the big test on the Huskers' non-conference
schedule. If the Huskers win that one, they might break into the
rankings or deserve to.

Then, Alabama A&M at home, which should be an easy victory. Then,
they go to Hawaii to face Wyoming (Sagarin #97), either Hawaii (Sagarin
#106) or San Francisco (Sagarin #109), and Houston (#81), Valparaiso
(#95), Charlotte (#143), or Creighton (#66). They close the year with
Miami (Sagarin #100) on the road. The other games before the Big 12
are Savannah State at home (should be an easy win) and Western Kentucky
(Sagarin #50) at home.

This is an excellent schedule for NU (Sagarin #52 before the most
recent three wins). The only opponent ranked much higher play is
Oregon, but they play a bunch of decent teams (in the #50 to #100
range). If they can beat Oregon on the road, it isn't unrealistic
to think they could be 14-0 and ranked going into Big 12 play.

It is finally time to get excited about NU basketball. Nebraska was
an excellent ball club tonight and put away North Texas in 16 minutes.
