One surprise was Purify as 2nd team WR.

He played more in the conference games - with considerable impact - and
those were the coaches who voted.

Probably the same people who told us Scott Shanle was too slow to play
LB at NU. Somehow, he became fast enough to play in the NFL.

Dane Todd was another (even bigger?) shock. Todd had very few
carries all year (any?, I don't have the stats), yet was first team.

Zero carries. Most all-whatever teams have only running backs - the guys
who carry the ball. Apparently, the coaches' team included a real
fullback - the guy who blocks and catches an occasional pass. Todd is
pretty good in that role.

But two of the Husker most maligned players, Andrew Shanle and
Cortney Grixby, made the list while Tierre Green and Andre Jones
did not.

I must say I haven't seen any criticism of Shanle, and not much of
Grixby. Jones has had some issues, to put it politely. Green is serviceable.
