I call bunk here. If Callahan would have said this, people would be 
moaning and wailing, adding it to the "not Tom Osborne quotes" list along 
with "dumbest team in America", "f'in hillbillies" and the throat slashing 
gesture. 

Callahan doesn't get much room there from anyone. 

Add to that that he doesn't have Dan Hawkins' Howdy Doody face, and people 
won't let him get away with that stuff, even if he was having fun (like 
Hawkins was) at the time.
