This week was actually the first I had heard of this remark, so I apologize for 'dredging' it up.

The statement in question was made by Hawkins almost
two months ago at a pep rally for fans and students
before CU's homecoming game.  I think Husker fans are
letting Hawkins get to them if they have to dredge up
this.  I'm not sure the Kansas State fans dwelled as
much on Callahan's "Prima Donna" slam on Josh Freeman.

As for coach of the year, there is no doubt in my
mind:  Bob Stoops.  He lost his starting quarterback
before the season started, and lost a Heisman-calibre
running back halfway through the season.  Still went
and won the Big XII South.  When you consider they
really should be 10-1 this season, that's an
accomplishment.
