[Husker] Athletic QBs

You know, I love the way Zac Taylor plays the game. Alot of heart and
grit...

But I have to admit...watching this guy run and scramble is really painful.
He's so frikkin slow!!

Over the years we've gotten used to seeing QBs that could really run well in
the old Husker option...

I've been wondering about something for awhile and want to know how the list
feels:

1. Will Callahan ever recruit a more athletic QB?

Think of Troy Smith. He can run and throw the ball. It seems like this
season, having a QB who could really scoot would have been a plus. It would
negate or attenuate an aggressive pass rush, particularly late in the game
when the Huskers seem to struggle. Watching Taylor lumber as he attempts to
run the ball, looking more like a fast walk, is just awful! but I guess
makes up for it with some great throws...

It seems to me that Callahan seems to be going after the 'drop-back' type
QB. One could argue that Freeman would have fit the Troy Smith role nicely.
So maybe he isn't just going after a type of QB. But judging from who is on
scholarship right now, it seems like he prefers the 'drop-back' types.

I personally would like to see us go after a more athletic QB, one who could
effectively run and pick up yards as needed (although this would not be his
primary weapon).

Any thoughts?
