You may be right. With the computer rankings so much enters in to the
point it almost matters what they ate for breakfast as to where they are
ranked. Maybe they won't drop as far as I thought. Regardless, it would
have been better for NU for Texas to win. At the very least KSU beat Texas
and NU didn't. Using the logic of some that makes KSU better than NU.
That might be true if NU and KSU had not played but that is not the case here, they did and NU won so that puts that to rest. Or it should anyway.
Yeah, I remember well. :-) I would doubt Michigan and Ohio State would
play for the BCS title but stranger things have happened. I remember NU
playing for the title one year when they didn't even with their division,
much less the conference title.
The OSU-MU rematch is not out of the question. It would take a lot of upsets but here is a scenerio that could make it happen using the current rankings. Mich beats OSU, USC beats ND but loses to either Cal or UCLA, Arkansas loses to LSU but beats Florida in the SEC. champ. game, and Rutgers wins out beating West Virginia. This would leave only OSU with one loss and Rutgers undefeated. Would the polls favor Rutgers or OSU. Even switching the outcome of OSU-MU it would have MICH. with one loss and Rut. as undefeated. I would think that OSU or MICH would get the nod over Rutgers. A long shot yes but not out of the realm of possibility.
