Because he sees Sam lighting things up? Because the
players on the scout team are raving about Sam's skills
and saying how good things are going to in 2007?

I know. Zac's position is not at risk.

It was during the Kansas game that it first occurred to
me that Sam might be having an effect on Zac. For some
reason Zac seemed to be looking for big plays rather than
doing the routine dink & dunk. Perhaps it was the gameplan?
Perhaps BC told Zac to look downfield for the big play?
I don't know. What I do know is that Zac made some big
plays (which won the game), but he completed only 45% of
his passes (which nearly lost us the game).

I'm sure Zac has been trying to help Sam. But Sam is not
a newbie. It's not a master-acolyte type of relationship.
In terms of experience and maturity, Sam is Zac's equal.
Yes, Zac knows much more about our system, but Sam is an
experienced gunslinger who could probably teach Zac a thing
or two about making big plays under pressure.

I have no inside information. I'm just a couch potato
watching the game. But I gotta wonder what happened to
the cool/calm/controlled Zac we saw at the Alamo Bowl.
The o-line is better, the tight ends are getting open,
the receivers are making spectacular catches, the backs
are getting good yards on the ground, everybody knows the
playbook better. So why does Zac seem more frustrated
and uncomfortable this year than last?
