[Husker] Comments on the Game and the List

I thought I interrupt the List's morbid fascination concerning the
numer of angels that can dance on the head of a pin (Solich vs.
Callahan) and offer a comment or two on Current Events (Husker
football fortunes):

1. While a couple of newspaper columns have mentioned in passing that
the O-line started one true freshman, three sophomores, and one
junior - - yet this startling stat seems to have attracted no notice
whatever on the HuskerList. These very junior underclassmen played an
outstanding game against a good Big XII defense. Nothing I've seen
this year bodes as well for future Husker squads.

2) Nobody on the List seems to have noticed that Major Culbert played
in a truly remarkable way for a true freshman. He seems the likely
candidate to replace Shanle when the time comes.

3) Does anybody have any idea why neither Glenn nor Wilson played a
single down?

4) Didn't anybody notice that about half of Jake Wesch's Husker
kickoffs wound up as touchbacks? To my way of thinking, that
catapulted the kickoff game into another dimension.

5) Carricker makes a pretty fair nose tackle, don't you think?
