Corey McKeon said yesterday that much of the problem
on the defensive side of the ball was players blowing
their assignments, trying to do too much, and leaving
holes for Oklahoma State to exploit.

"You just have to execute better," McKeon said. "We
didn't do that very well on Saturday. Guys were
jumping out of gaps and trying to make too many plays.
If we just stayed and took care of our responsibility,
then it would be a lot easier to contain teams like
that with a lot of speed.
  
"Trying to make plays, trying to make tackles . . .
completely natural, completely normal. But in a gap
defense like we run, you can't do that. You can't jump
out of your gap."
