Hello Husker Fans,

What a huge win for NU. Not only did it get them into the Big XII
championship game, but with the teams that have lost ahead of them
in the polls, it all but assures we are going to be a Top 8 seed
  come tourney time.

As soon as I head they were starting Dorn, I was very upset.
Nothing personal against Johnny, but he hasn't been pitching all
that well as of late. Sure enough, Johnny was getting rocked and
gave up 5 runs in the first 3 innings (1 after he was pulled, but
  still counts against him).

Tony Watson was definitely one of today's heros. He came in with 1
out in the 3rd and left with 2 outs in the 8th and didn't allow a
single run. Jensen came in for the final 4 outs and didn't
  surrender a hit.

The offense was good today, pounding 12 hits and scoring 6. Buckman
broke out of a funk and hit 3 for 3 today and Brown had the go ahead
RBI to put the Huskers up for good. The only bad part is we had
bases loaded in the 7th with no outs (after we had already scored 1)
and couldn't push another run across (IMHO, one of the reasons was a
BAD 3rd strike call on a 3-2 count to Christy that got our pitching
coach tossed that would've scored 1 and would mean the pursuing DP
would have scored one as well.)

Interestingly, VERY early in the game, Anderson pulled a cold
Gorsett for Bryce Nimmo. He really shuffled the lineup a lot
  today:

  1) Jaros
  2) Wehrle
  3) Buckman
  4) Brown
  5) Gorsett/Nimmo
  6) Opitz
  7) Christy
  8) Sullivan (DH'ing instead of Gerch who hit a big 3 run homer
  early)
  9) Mort

It's good to see Anderson finally sending the message that if you're
not going to hit, get out of the lineup.

Huskers play in the championship vs the winner of MU vs KU at 1:00pm
on Fox Sports Net. MU has been playing really hot, sweeping UT and
then drubbing both OSU and OU. Give KU credit as well for beating
  both OU and OSU.

Like I said before, I think this all but locks up our National Seed
with North Carolina losing early in their tourney, Virginia (0-2)
losing early in theirs, Alabama has been playing well (helps our
RPI/SOS), Kentucky, OSU, OU, Clemson lost today...

Plus someone said coming into today our RPI was like 3rd or
something like that, which can't hurt. Factor in our big crowds and
you have yourself a Super Regional :)

We really couldn't catch a break with the umpires all day long, but
still managed to win. Great win SKERS!!!
