Hello Husker Fans,

Excellent question. Both OU and UT won today, so we are sandwiched
between them in the standings.

UT 19-4
NU 15-5
OU 15-6

In the loss column, UT has 4 losses, NU has 5, and OU has 6. We have
to make up 1 game with UT and win the series against OU. OU has OSU
(who's won 11 in a row and playing very well) and us. UT has only
Missouri left. The chances don't look good as Missouri is not the
best team this year.

We have a series with Baylor in Waco and OU at home to finish the
season (after tomorrow's game).

In the national polls NU will probably drop a little, but the two
teams below us went 2-1 for the weekend, so who knows.

If both NU and UT wins out it would be 22-5 and 22-4 respectively.
OU would need to win out (sweep Huskers in Lincoln) and UT would have
to lose twice (since UT has the head-to-head advantage) and finish
21-6.

For NU, we need 1 UT loss and 7 straight wins vs OSU tomorrow, Baylor
next week and sweep OU in Lincoln. The 7 wins alone will be tough and
a loss vs Missouri in Columbia is not out of the question, but it's
far from a sure thing.

On a personal note, I'm not that upset (as I could be) for the loses
at OSU for two reasons.

1) It can give them back that underdog edge heading into the
postseason. Teaching them that you can't just 'cruise' to a Big XII
title. This is a tough conference and anyone can win at any time.

2) OSU is a hot team right now. Arguably the hottest in the Big XII
and IMO the best hitting team in the Big XII. They lead quite a few
individual and team offensive categories with Mach and Schram as we
found out today.

Never a dull season with the Big XII...
