[Husker] Dukes-Dailey

I'm not sure that Callahan would necessarily view it
as a dig, but rather a statement of reality. The
circumstances that Callahan found himself in 2004 were
not necessarily the same that North Carolina faces in
2006. For one thing, North Carolina can afford to
take chances with their quarterback unlike the 2004
Huskers. With Jordan Adams out, Dailey was backed
by 3 true freshmen, and the best of the bunch was
recruited as a wrestler. (Remember the end of the
Texas Tech game??? Yikes!) Plus, Callahan was trying
to teach his system to 120 players, not just Dailey.
I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that Joe Dailey
is a MUCH better QB than what we saw in 2004, when
Callahan tried to turn him into Dan Marino (pure
dropback passer).
