Hello Husker Fans,

Sorry for the lack of baseball updates, I just flew in from Las
Vegas late Saturday night after a week of bachelor party mayhem and
was without Internet access (just refused to pay $12/day for it).
Thank you Dave Norris for the update of yesterday's games.

The Huskers completed the 3 game sweep of the Red Raiders on Sunday
  with a 10-run-rule shortened 14-4 drubbing.

Ryan Wehrle had a great day, driving in a career high 6 runs (a team
high this season as well). Andrew Brown and Andy Gerch also got 3
hits apiece and Nimmo scores 3 times.

Dorn was not as sharp as he's been lately, but certainly wasn't bad
getting a quality start (a.k.a. 7 or more innings 3 or less runs)
with 7 innings, 3 earned runs (1 unearned) let up 6 hits, struck out
3 and walked 1. In doing so, he earns his 8th win of the year, a
  team high to go 8-2.

Buckman tied up Luke Gorsett for the Big Husker lead for homeruns at
14 (tie 2nd in the Big XII).

The Huskers take the mid-week off and prepare for a weekend series
at a very decent Oklahoma State in Stillwater. This series is a
Sat, Sun, Mon weekend with the games at 2:00pm, 2:00pm, and 6:30pm
respectively. As of yet, none of the games are on T.V., but all
three games should be on Pinnacle (I'm guessing) and on Huskers.com
  webcast.

In the Big XII, OSU ranks 2nd in batting avg (.327 vs NU's .325),
  7th in ERA (4.50 vs NU's 2.98), 5th in fielding (.970 vs NU's .976).
They have probably the best hitter in the league in Mach Tyler (.401
  ba, 2nd, 73 hits, 1st, 60 RBIs, 1st, 16 homers, 1st, 133 Total
bases, 1st). The series certainly favors NU, but it won't be a cake
walk. NU could really use a sweep to stay ahead of OU and UT with
them playing KSU and KU respectively.

NU has won 6 in a row and 17 of 19 to go 36-6, a great record at
this point. We play Baylor in Waco the following week and finish the
season with Oklahoma in Lincoln (possibly for the conference crown).
We have 2 midweek games in there with Northern Iowa at home and
Creighton at Rosenblatt on May 16 (7:00pm).

FYI, Texas won both games vs aTm this weekend, where OU went 2-1 at
home vs KU. This will make it tough (although not out of the
question) for OU to take the season title. The standings are:

  Nebraska 15-3-0 36-6-0
  Texas 15-4-0 31-15-0
  Oklahoma 13-5-0 35-11-0
  Oklahoma State 9-8-0 31-13-0
  Kansas 10-11-0 32-18-0
  Baylor 10-11-0 27-19-0
  Missouri 9-12-0 21-21-0
  Texas Tech 6-13-1 27-20-1
  Kansas State 4-12-1 24-16-1
  Texas A&M 4-16-0 21-25-0

FYI, NU is in a great position for a National Seed this year. The
series win at Texas went a long way in solidifying that. We still
could use a strong finish and a Big XII season title, but this team
  is really playing well.
