Hello Husker Fans,

The Huskers split this midweek series with Northern Colorado. In
the first game, Charlie Shirek had his first rocky game this season.
He gave up 5 runs over 5.1 innings, although 2 of those came after
he was removed from the game.

Wertz, Jennings, Bird, and Herr finished the game, not allowing
another earned run, except the two that Shirek left on base, but
Northern Colorado's ace kept the Huskers in check and defeated the
  Huskers 5-2.

In the second game, Tim Radmacher pitched much better than his first
outing where he couldn't seem to find the plate. He pitched 5
innings, struck out 6, didn't allow a single run scattering 2 hits.

The offense really came on, pounding out 12 hits, 4 by Wehrle tying
a career high and knocking in 3. There were homers by Wehrle (3),
  Gorsett (10), Christy (3).

The Huskers are back in action this weekend at Kansas State starting
Friday at 6:30pm, Saturday a 2:00pm, and Sunday at 1:00pm before
heading to Rosenblatt to face Creighton Tuesday night at 7:00pm.

We probably should have swept the two games, but in college baseball
a single loss isn't the end of the world. Especially when you're
throwing your number 4 starter versus their ace.
