Hello Husker Fans,

Today, the Huskers took both games of a double header. The first
  9-2 and the second 4-1.

In the first game, the Huskers poured on the offense early. They
scored 6 runs in the first inning off of 6 hits (1 unearned). They
loaded the bases with a single, double and a walk to bring up
Gorsett who hit a grand slam home run to right field.

From there, Joba cruised. Other than giving up a solo shot in the
5th inning, he pitched very well, proving that he's back from
tightness in his throwing arm. He struck out 6 over 6.1 innings and
gave up 5 hits. Erik Bird and Luke Wertz came in for the last 2.2
innings and gave up 1 run to seal the win.

In the second game, it was all pitching from both sides. Trading
runs in the 1st inning, the pitchers settled down and tossed several
innings of no run ball. Watson was OUTSTANDING pitching 7, striking
out 10, and giving up 3 hits. Jensen came in for 2 innings, didn't
give up a hit and struck out 2.

KU kept NU in check tho, until the 7th inning, when the 9th batter
in the lineup (Edlefsen) was hit by a pitch on a 1-2 count. Nimmo,
who was 5-10 on the day, tried to sac him over, but was
unsucesseful and reached on a fielder's choice. He then stole
second and on a throwing error by the catcher took third as well.
Wherle then came up and knocked him in with a base-hit to right.
Wherle then stole second, and was then driven in by Buckman.

The Huskers scored an insurance run in the 8th when Edlefsen doubled
home Christy (who had just stolen 2nd the play before). That was
more than enough for the Husker aces.

Huskers go for the sweep tomorrow @ 1:05 pm. Husker's send up
johnny Dorn (3-1 3.33 ERA) vs Kodiak Quick, Sr. (3-2 1.96 ERA)

Should be another good matchup, let's see if Dorn's hot hand
  continues.
