It depends on who you talk to. To some, if you have something that isn't
completely positive to say about Steve Pederson or Bill Callahan, or have
anything remotely positive to say about Frank Solich, then you are
anti-Husker. On the other hand, there are others to whom the reverse is
true. Unfortunately, recent events have strongly polarized some segments of
the Husker fan base into pretty vocal and antagonistic camps.
Huskerpedia went through some pretty ugly times around the Solich firing.
Most of those who hate Frank have left and started other boards, which do
not welcome negativity or criticism of anyone to do with Husker football, so
those boards may appear to be more positive.
Again, it all really seems to center around each person's opinion about
Steve Pederson, Frank Solich, and Bill Callahan. Personally, I wasn't sure
Frank needed to go, but I will also say that Callahan certainly has the
program doing the right things and I'm confident he can get us into the
elite echelon again, perhaps as soon as this season. Since I neither hate
nor worship either coach, I frequent multiple boards, try to ignore
the material on either one that bothers me, voice unpopular opinions from
time to time and receive a group beat-down for it, and try to focus on
discussion of the team, the players, the opponents, etc. To do otherwise
would threaten my sanity. :)
