[Husker] VB Final Four & Upcoming NCAA Events in Omaha

Greetings All:

To expand on the volleyball Final Fours in Omaha just a bit. The 2006 Final Four to be held here in Omaha this December sold out in two hours back in January. With the seating expansion at the Qwest Center this summer the rated capacity for this fall's event will be around 17,000 and all seats have been sold. The crowd of 17,000 will be the largest crowd for a Final Four in several years as the past several Final Fours have not been able to draw more than around 10,000 with some drawing as few as 8,000. 

In addition to the two volleyball Final Fours Omaha will play host to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in March 2008 as well, hosting rounds 1 and 2. Omaha will also host the NCAA Division I wrestling national championship matches in March 2010. All of this of course is in addition to the College World Series which Omaha will continue to host through 2010 at least.
