The article also quoted Sallie as saying that if Collier left and Spinelli went
as well that he and possibly Marcus Walker would leave the program.
Look, every team in the B12 except for TX and KU (since December) has had an
inconsistent season with losing skids and blowing games they should have won,
at least one (OU) versus the Huskers. The team had some bad games. But
Collier has some serious ballplayers coming in and coming back. Maric will be
first team all-B12 before he's done. Soda could develop into another
fundamentally strong paint presence. Sallie has a lot of enthusiasm for
righting the ship.
This would be a very bad year, in my highly respected and oft-sought after :)
opinion, to try to fish for a knight in shining armor. If Collier fields a
talented team next year and they lack fundamentals and an ability to win, then
talk about his exit. But right now, I haven't heard anyone saying that his
offensive scheme is terrible, his team discipline is terrible, or that his
recruiting is terrible. These are my top three factors that a coach can
control.
I would also say that Steve Pederson is unpredictable and I have no idea what
will transpire in the next 30 days regarding the coaching situation.
