Watson has pitched very well for them. Probably even better than Dorn
in his 2 starts, although it's very early. We also have a very good
outing from the freshman Charlie Shirek (yes, his brother) so it looks
like we probably have 4 good starters. Again, it's early though, we'll
see how things shape up.
We are definitely the favorite this weekend. Ranked #4/11/23 in the 3
polls. Notre Dame was ranked in one poll to start the season, but
after a 2-2 start, they are unranked. The team is really shaping up
nice. As I mentioned before Luke Gorsett is going to be a very good
power hitter for us with a team high 3 homers already. Wherle and
Jaros are both hitting over .400 for the year and as I mentioned
before, the pitching seems to be shaping up nice. With 3 out of the 4
starters with great ERAs (1.04 Shirek, 1.93 Joba, 2.77 Watson).
Should be a fun series to watch, we should probably sweep, although
2-1 wouldn't be the end of the world. We play Fri @ 12:15 vs Notre
Dame (2-2), Sat @ Noon vs Arizona (8-4), and Sun @ 3:00 vs Minn (0-3).
Pitching lineup is Joba Friday, Watson Saturday, and Dorn on Sunday.
I expect Anderson is giving Dorn a chance to face someone who's not
that good to boost his confidence and get into a rhythm.
Anyhow, GO BIG RED
