Subject: [Husker] NU Basketball
Greetings All:
Actually some of us do care about Husker basketball, I was there tonight
just like I have been for most of the games this season. This was a
disappointing loss on Senior Night and in talking to the four seniors after
the game you could see they were disappointed with the outcome as well.
This has been a tough year but a better year than anyone predicted to start
with, most media types thought NU would finish tenth in the conference but
it looks now like we will finish sixth (not eighth as someone else stated
earlier tonight). A win Sunday at Missouri would guarantee sixth place and a
date with Baylor in the first round of the tournament next week in Dallas
(Thursday at 8:20 PM CT). Nebraska handled Baylor pretty easily here in
Lincoln and could do so in Dallas as well.
I'll admit this isn't the most popular opinion in the state of Nebraska
right now but I want Coach Collier around for another year at least. This
guy is running this program the right way with kids graduating and some even
being considered for post graduate scholarships and in the case of Jason
Dourisseau being considered for Academic All American.
The four seniors on this team (all from Nebraska) should be a source of
pride for all Nebraskans as they are graduating on time and have all grown
personally and athletically since arriving and have represented the program
with class and dignity and never a hint of trouble. I'll take this type of
operation any day over a program where there are questions and people not
graduating (leaving early) and coaches not operating on the level.
Nebraska takes on Missouri in Columbia on Sunday, tip off is at 1:05 PM and
it will be televised via ESPN + (Cox 2 in Omaha and KLKN Channel 8 in
Lincoln, among other stations and cable systems around the nation as well).
