Baseball season is over for the Big Red, and the
football season is still 12 weeks away...
A couple of interesting reads from the Journal-Star
Bill Callahan stepped out of South Stadium to make a
few appearances over the last couple of weeks. Seems
that Callahan tries to avoid the spotlight, much like
his two predecessors as head coach of the Huskers.

During summer conditioning, Nebraska is experimenting
with swallowable capsules to help the training staff
monitor body heat to try and prevent tragedies like
what happened to Kory Stringer of the Minnesota
Vikings.

At $30 a pop, one might be tempted to try and recycled
these capsules, though finding volunteers to recover
and then reuse them might be an issue... :-)
Meanwhile, the Omaha World-Herald finds Tommie Frazier
struggling at Doane. At the start of fall camp last
year, there were over 100 players on the roster. For
the last game, less than 60 players suited up.
Currently, the roster sits at 40 players with only 3
offensive linemen.
