They were also selling tickets in the ticket broker sites at below face
value for the Pitt game. I heard some of the tickets were going for $15
or $20.

I honestly doubt it. I agree with the poster earlier who noted how much
"ignorance" their has been about tickets for the past few years. For
whatever reason, people have gotten the impression that it's absolutely
impossible to get tickets if you don't know someone or if you don't
already have season tickets. I'm betting a vast majority of the 15,000
who applied fall into this category.
FWIW, We've been to probably 95% of home games going back to 1998, and
only *once* did we have to pay over face value (the Notre Dame game in
2001...I think we paid $150 a ticket). There was at least one game this
year that ticket brokers were selling for *under* face value...I believe
it was the Wake Forrest game.
