In the last few days I have received tens of thousands of spam messages,
completely overwhelming my mail gateway.

In fact, I had to delete several thousand queued messages, most of which
I assume (and hope) were spam, just to get anything flowing again.

It appears the time to upgrade my mail gateway/firewall hardware and software
has finally arrived.  List service may be a bit spotty until that gets
done.
