[Husker] Vince Young or Tommy Frasier?

I think Scott's assessment is pretty much dead on, although I do like Young over Vick at the collegiate level. I mean the guy did throw up almost 500 yards of total offense by himself against a very, very good USC team and with the game on the line and USC knowing that they had to stop only him...they couldn't.

As for NFL QB's, I have long maintained that Michael Vick is one of the most overrated players in the HISTORY of the NFL. While he has led the Falcons to a couple of nice wins, namely the playoff upset of the Packers at Lambeau several years back, the guy has a career passer rating of somewhere around 70. OUCH!

I see Young as a similar type NFL player to Vick so to me, and I would guess most NFL GM's, Leinart is a much better pro prospect. The 2 things that Young has going for him over Vick is that he is physically bigger and a more accurate passer...while Vick has a much stronger arm. I would almost say that Young is more like a Daunte Cullpepper, although Cullpepper has a stronger arm...but then again Young is a better runner.

I just don't see Vince Young as an impact QB in the NFL, although I certainly could be wrong. Some team will make him a Top 5 pick though if he comes out.

Let's just hope for the Husker's sake that the 2 best players on the field last night both decide to head to the NFL early or you could quite possibly chalk up 2 losses for next season before it even starts. I mean even though Reggie Bush didn't have as electrifying of a game as Young, he still had 279 all-purpose yards and a TD himself.

Have a great day!

Jeff

PS: I am happy for Texas fans that Mack Brown, quite possibly the most overrated gameday coach in college football (but a FABULOUS recruiter), didn't outsmart himself ALL SEASON and just let Vince take over.
