Registration required, but here's the relevant passage:

==========================================
Nebraska's average actual attendance for nonconference play - 4,947 - is
the school's worst in at least three decades.

When asked to comment on the record-low crowds, Collier said:

"I don't believe that's  correct."

When told the actual attendance figures, as opposed to the tickets-sold
total being reported on box scores, was less than 5,000 a game, Collier
said:

"Somebody's guessing at those. I don't know where they are coming from."

When told the release of the actual figures - a turnstile count plus 500
to account for workers, teams, band and the news media - was approved by
Marc Boehm, executive associate athletic director, Collier said:

"I didn't know  that."

==========================================

That's just embarrassing. Hilarious, but embarrassing.

There's nothing hilarious about the current state of Husker hoops for those
of us who follow it too closely, but I can appreciate where you're coming from
 here.

I thought it was extremely interesting to see that the World-Herald print
version focused their game story on the lack of attendance (including the rather
 embarrassing accompanying photo dipiction) ... while the Journal-Star did
not even MENTION the lack-of-attendance until you got to the boxscore.

I'm not going to engage in job speculation re: Collier's job status. But
others are, on a national scale. Check it out, but before anyone starts
longing for Neebrasketball of yesteryear, keep goin' down the list, about five
paragraphs below BC (Barry Collier):
