I don't dislike SP because he brought in Bill Callahan. I dislike SP
because
of the manner in which he did it. I mostly like what BC has done with the
football program. I was lukewarm on Frank Solich. But the way SP fired
Solich, gave Pelini the brushoff, and bumbled through a coaching search
by
himself, is why I have my doubts about SP....--M. Landin

It's also largely why I quit reading the List daily for so long. I got
real tired of seeing people, who for whatever reason(s) HATED Solich SO
much that they began strongly defending SP's actions, whatever and
however... If there was any way to undo what was done, I wish we could
have kept a few of the former NU players, who'd come back for assistant
coach positions. To wipe them out like SP did was brutal.

SP is a divisive figure; I personally do not LIKE the guy and what he has
done, overall, so I'm agreeing with what was said above. I think the best
summary of EXACTLY how I feel about the whole deal was clearly and
well-said in Scott Frost's words.

I have always maintained that we needed to back off on BC and give him at
least three years (06-07 will be #3) to develop HIS recruits and the
overall package. He seems to be right on track.
