Is there any real traction to these rumors, other than the ramblings of some Twin Cities talkjock?

Following the round of new vacancies that emerged Monday/Tues, some of the more recent articles have included speculation about who might be in the running and where (Jim Fassel, Mike Singletary, etc.).  I have not seen Callahan's name on any potential candidate list for any of the current available positions.

Callahan needs to lay these rumors to rest or it will effect recruiting at a
very key time. Unless they're not rumors. Maybe that's why he was smiling so
much leading up the bowl game. He already had been told he's going to be
hired by KC or the Rams. But I doubt it. I think he's here to stay for a
while, and, hopefully, he'll affirm that publicly. When Oregon's Mike
Belloti was mentioned for several jobs, including Notre Dame, he used it to
help recruiting by saying it was a compliment to be considered, but that no
job could match Oregon.
