I'm not sure what you mean by 'noise', but I count over 20 posts here
dealing with Frank's arrest. It made big headlines in the papers and
was well covered by the TV stations, too.
If Callahan got a rude reception it was in large measure due to the
lack of success in his first year, especially after the HUGE expectations
placed upon him by Steve Pedersen's statement after firing Solich that
the only acceptable level of performance is for Nebraska to compete for
the national championship, a level that BC is still a bit away from,
though I think they may be ranked about 22 in the final polls later
this week.
While I think many fans don't hold the decision to move to the WCO against
BC personally, since that's the primary reason he was hired (over some
option-offense-type coach), he didn't help himself by dissing (some would
say gutting) the walkon program the way he did.
