Hello husker,

It's worth pointing out that the #18 Husker softball team destroyed
  Illinois 21-1.

The baseball team defeated Texas State 10-3 today. Tony Watson
picked up the win pitching 7 innings, allowing 3 runs and struck out
  8. Overall a very good performance except for the fourth inning
when he walked a couple guys, gave up a double and a couple singles.

The game was a lot closer than what the score says. It was a 3-3
tie until the Huskers got one in the seventh. They followed that
with 6 more runs in the eigth.

Bryce Nimmo went 2 for 2, scored twice and drove in two, including a
2 strike RBI to take the lead back in the seventh. Ryan Wherle went
3 for 5 scoring once and driving in 2. Jaros and Gorsett added a 2
run homer each. Watch out for Gorsett, he was the top homerun hitter
in Junior college last year and has 2 already this season.

Nebraska faces 4th ranked Rice tomorrow for their biggest showdown
so far. I believe Joba will take the hill in what should be a great
matchup. This would be a huge early season win for the Huskers.
They'll need Joba at his best, the Owls pounded out 19 hits today
beating St. Johns 14-7. The Owls are 8-2 on the year facing the
  4-1 Huskers.
