Both the Journal-Star and the World-Herald were reporting today that Joe
McCray has now been "dismissed" from the team ... no longer "suspended
indefinetly."
It's not just a coincidence that the Huskers look more "together" during the
last two games than prior to that when McCray was part of the mix. Too bad
for Joe, but in the end, he's responsible for his situation. I wish he would
have chosen to be part of the solution.
Addition by subtraction. If anyone out there has ever been a part of a team
where a player had his own selfish agenda, you know what a "drain" that one
weakest link can be. Now everybody's just concerned about playing for each
other toward one common goal. Takes a lot of the pressure off.
Steve's follow-up comments re: how to look at the conference race were right
on. Barry is going to be facing a lot of "biggest games of his career" in
the near future. First and foremost is Baylor. NU CAN NOT LOSE TO BAYLOR. I
don't think they will. Their upset of K-State last night had to get NU's
attention.
